If you are thinking about joining us for Christmas Eve, maybe a few notes will help.
1. We host a live impromptu nativity Sunday morning the 24th at 10 am. We call it Christmas in the Round. Anyone can put on a costume from the rack, join the circle around the child, and pick a speaking part if they wish.
2. The candlelight service is at 5 pm, dark by the time the service ends and we dim the lights and sing by the light of the many flames.
3. All the services include lots of Christmas hymns and communion. Everyone can take communion.
4. You don’t need a reservation. Or a ticket. Or permission.
5. There are a lot of rainbows and the pastor is a Leftist.
6. If you wish, bring coats, shoes, blankets etc and place them under the narthex tree as your gift to the Christ child, who has promised always to appear as the thirsty, the hungry, the homeless, the outcast, the prisoner.
7. We aren’t much into evangelizing people and you will not be asked to give your life to Christ. But we do love to be a resource for our neighbors and so if you’re feeling the Christmas spirit feel free to walk on over.
8. This Sunday the 17th is our annual Christmas concert. 10 am. You will hear everything from a John Lennon cover to a beginning trumpet solo to choral arrangements and even a harp. We have so many musicians it’s like that SNL skit with the Harkin Brothers family band.
9. Parking lot will be full much of the day because the Marshallese church worships on our campus also but their services alternate with ours.
10. #CeaseFireNow
I hope to have a few family members for that service. Will attend both services for the feel of the real Christmas and the music on course.
